Deuteronomy 6:4-7a “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.”

“Impress” means to sharpen as you would a sword, to teach intensely. We are to impress the Word of God deeply on our children.

God’s Word will transform children into future leaders of our churches, communities and nations. Imagine a world without Jesus, and then imagine a world without a generation to bring the good news of his Gospel. NGBF is building up the generation of tomorrow by impressing deeply the children of today. Our children will be of such character as spiritually maturing followers of Christ that they will carry on his commandment and commission by their very Christ-likeness.

NGBF Children’s Ministries use a wide variety of ways to build up our children, from simply opening a Bible to using puppets, multimedia and games. Our new Children’s facilities are safe, secure, and specialized to the different stages of child development as our children grow.

The Lord’s commandments given us by Moses and the Gospels are being honored today as we impress them on our children for the world of tomorrow

  Nursery: Newborn - Age 3     Sunday Morning       8:00, 9:45 and 11:00

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Every child is a gift from God. We are here to serve you by providing a nurturing atmosphere and quality care for your child. We serve to create a feeling of security and friendship in an environment where Christian ideas are expressed and felt, where love and nurturing are our principle concerns. Jesus Christ is in control of all care and learning in our nursery.

Infants: Newborn - Age 2
We consider it a wonderful privilege and honor to assist you in caring for your baby. We provide gentle, nurturing care as we accompany you and your children on the journey through their early development stages—rolling over, sitting up, crawling, first steps and first words.

Toddlers: Age 2 - 3
It is our purpose to encourage the educational, physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth of your children through a relaxed yet stimulating environment providing experiences that will aid them in developing their Christian foundation.

Developmental toys, Bible stories and videos, arts and crafts are the core structure for each classroom.

Age 4 – 6th Grade
8:00 Children join their families in the sanctuary.

9:00 (approximately) 3rd – 6th Grade Samuel Club
After the choir sings and before the message begins, children old enough to read their Bibles may be dismissed from the sanctuary to participate in a Bible Study. Children are expected to act maturely, and take this seriously. We open our Bibles and learn about God’s Word. (I need to check this text with what I have in my church office, I don’t have it here at home)

11:00 Children have their own programs during the entire service. The age separation between 1st and 2nd grade is approximate, you may deem which program is best for the current developmental stage of your child.

2nd – 6th Grade Time Machine
What we do:
Time Machine brings the Bible to life with fun sing-along music, games, movies, special effects lighting and zany multimedia puppet productions. Kids are captivated as they learn the foundational truths of God’s Word. Our team creatively engages with children in many different ways to reach them with the lessons of life that will help them grow into the future leaders of their generation that God has created them to be.
What to do:
For your child’s safety, check in and pick up your child; and if you are a first time guest, fill out an information card. It will include your contact information, food allergies (we use things like candy for our lessons and prizes) and any medical conditions like asthma, problems with flashing lights or loud sound, and any other special needs.
What to wear:
We sit on the carpet, and have many activities and games. We suggest your child wears suitable play clothing.

Age 4 – 1st Grade
What we do:
We use DiscipleLand curriculum to teach our younger children about the Amazing Heroes of the Old and New Testament. Through Bible stories, arts, crafts, activities, games and videos, children learn how Jesus is the special Hero who fulfilled God’s plan to rescue them from sin.
What to do:
For your child’s safety, please check in and pick up your child– older children may not pick up younger siblings. And if you are a first time guest, fill out an information card. It will include your contact information, any medical conditions, food allergies and any other special needs. Snacks are offered around noon, and are non-sugary such as Goldfish, pretzels, baked chips and water.
Please have your child use the restroom before coming to class. We have small restrooms connected to the classroom for emergencies, but we try to just go once in the two hour period as a group to the main restrooms.
What to wear:
Weather permitting the children may play outside on church playground for 15 minutes. We suggest your child wears suitable play clothing.

AWANA 6:30 – 8:15 (September –  May)

What is AWANA?

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
As a ministry leader for 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni’s spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!
Each week, more than 1.5 million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and more than 10,000 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.
The name AWANA is derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15
What do we do?
We meet on Wednesday nights approximately following the school year. Every night, we have an opening ceremony, a Bible lesson, games, and memory verse reviews. There are many awards to be earned. Parents are strongly encouraged to work with their child during the week. Each year there are inter-church competitions that your child can participate in.

Puggles Age 2 – 3
Puggles recognizes the learning ability of 2- and 3-year olds by introducing biblical precepts at church and equipping parents to teach them at home. Toddlers love having their very own Awana club just like their older siblings.
Children are welcomed each week with play time, songs and simple crafts and activities. Leaders present age-appropriate lessons using large, colorful teaching cards, finger puppet plays and more. Lessons teach and reinforce four basic biblical precepts:
• God Made Everything
• God Saw That It Was Good
• God is Love
• Give Thanks
Special take-home cards that correspond to each week’s lesson help parents nurture their child’s faith at home. Participating in Puggles will give your child a head start on the path to loving and following God for life.

Sparks K – 2nd Grade
Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.
To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.
Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider, WingRunner and SkyStormer. Each year, Sparks clubbers:
• explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
• memorize Bible verses
• complete handbook activities
The handbooks, combined with Large Group Time lessons from the WHO Do I Need to Know From the Bible series, take your child on a journey through the entire Bible!

T&T 3rd – 6th Grade
(T&T Girls and T&T Boys meet separately)
T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace.
Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
T&T is different from other Awana programs. It is comprised of two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms and awards:
•T&T Ultimate Adventure for third and fourth grades
•T&T Ultimate Challenge for fifth and sixth grades

Local churches can run the T&T clubs separately or combine them for Large Group Time and Game Time. In any case, the two clubs are designed to help kids stay plugged into T&T as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.

6:00 – 9:00 Monday – Friday, one week each summer

There is a fresh, creative theme each year. Kids participate in hands-on activities as they rotate through different spaces that reinforce the biblical content. And at the end of the day they have learned important biblical truths and had a blast doing it! Sound, relevant Bible teaching and helpful, real-life application of the truths learned during VBS give your child the opportunity to become a maturing believer. We share the message of God’s love with all ages through our ABC (Admit, Believe, Confess) approach. Your child can make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and make this the summer of a lifetime!
