North Garland Baptist Fellowship

At the Fellowship, we do everything possible to integrate Scripture into all of our actions as we are active in the community of North Garland. Christian Education, commonly called Sunday School, is teaching the Bible in a way that changes lives. While we recognize that the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of each person to apply what is learned, the church's role can be summarized in the following three statements. We believe:

Christian Education takes place primarily in the home. Not only does each person have responsibility for his or her relationship with God, but parents are authorized by God to train their children to obey Him. Parents are the primary role in the Christian Education of their children (Deuteronomy 4:9-10, 40; 6:6-7; 11:18-21; Psalm 1:1-3; 119:11; Proverbs 14:26; 22:6; Matthew 19:13; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 6:1-3).

Christian Education is the responsibility of the local church. God has given each church the responsibility to be directly involved in the training of its members; which leads to Godliness and service in the community. Also, each teacher is accountable to God for the accuracy of his or her teaching (John 15:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-12;  2 Timothy 2:15; James 3:1; 1 Peter 3:15; 5:1-4).

Christian Education should result in a working knowledge of the Bible for each believer, an active role in the local church using his or her gifts, and sharing his or her faith in Jesus with others (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:1-4; 5:22-30; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 John 1:7; 2:6).

Toddlers (Age 2 & 3) - This class is lead by Sis. Angela King, Theme"Setting a Child's Heart on the Things of God". And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.  Mark 10: 13-16. Our class will be fun and full with praying, praising, singing, dancing, crafts and bible stories! For more information, contact Sis. Angela King @ ranagking@verizon.net / 972-414-8906 or Sis. Percy Singleton.  Additional special bible study classes are offered to help our  church family grow spiritually and in the knowledge of the word of Good.  These special classes are taught by the Pastor and selected teachers.    Contact Bro. Percy Singleton at 972-414-1494 for more information.

Elective Class- This class deals primarily with an in-depth study of the biblical texts.  We seek to engage both the Old and the New Testaments by seeking to understand their cultures which are different from our own.  Therefore, the class aims to study the life and times of the biblical writers and the people they were teaching. This study will help us to understand the scriptures from a perspective that is different from ours. By engaging in this task, we seek to grow in spiritual maturity.  It is the hope of this class that we understand our lives, destiny, and purpose for our families in a way that is worthy of a Christian. Also, it is our ultimate pray for this class that these studies will enable us to love our Lord with all our heart, mind and soul for the sake of his kingdom.  Contact Bro. Tia Jamir at kichujamir@yahoo.com for more information.
